The U15 team played against strong opponents Yangpu Youth Amateur Athletic School this past Sunday in the SFA SYFL League. It was a difficult game, so Coach Radfan employed a 4-1-4-1 defensive tactic to minimize damage and launch counterattacks.

The Juve players followed this plan extremely well, closing down spaces to stop opponent attacks and having quite a few good chances on the counter through wingers Xavier and Florent as well as striker Alvaro. Despite the chances, Juve were unable to find a goal and the opponents score before the end of the first half. Juve continued to play well in the second half and stayed solid, coming close to equalizing in the 70th minute through a free-kick. However, the goal was called barely offside and the score remains. The opponents find another goal toward the end of the match after Juve’s building mistake and the match ends 2-0.

In all, a great match full of excitement and good football from both sides. Juve were able to threaten their strong opponents and remain in the match throughout the entire 90 minutes. This weekend’s match against Shenhua U15 will once again be a good chance for the team to show their potential. Let’s keep this up boys, Forza Juve!

The U17 continue their amazing start to the SYFL League, earning a huge 12-0 win against opponents Baoshan Jingda. This was the first game that the team had all of its forwards, but last-minute changes in the usual formation still had to be made as crucial defender Max missed this match. As a result, Amar dropped to a CB position while Eli and Ross switched to a CDM.

All players put on a very convincing performance, completely controlling and dominating the match from beginning to end. With 12 goals coming from 28 total shots in comparison to the opponent’s six shots, Juve stayed on top throughout. Although the team managed to score 12 goals, some of which were beautiful combinations and team plays, the U17 could have found even more goals. This match showcased Juve’s constant improvement game after game, as the team proves itself to be prolific at goal-scoring. Last Sunday, we saw eight different players on the scoresheet- four from Fynn, and one each from Sam, Ross, Peter, Kevin Zhang, Amit, Mert, and Gui. It is notable that Gui played as goalie for the entirety of the first half and later played outfield as a CB while Federico played in goal. He was able to find a goal in the second half through a strong header from a corner to end the match.

In all, the U17 boys seem up and ready for this weekend’s match-up against Shenhua U17. It will surely be an exciting match between two strong sides, stay tuned!
