Last Sunday, the Juventus Elite Girls team played their third match in the Nv Women’s League. Even though the girls fought hard and did their best, the match ended in a 1-2 loss for the Bianconere.
The girls started strong and put pressure on their opponents. Even when facing stronger adult women on the pitch, the girls did not back down and were not afraid of physical contact. Juventus had quite a few good chances, but the opponents were the ones to score first. The first half ended 0-1.
After a good half-time discussion, the Juve girls returned to the pitch ready to fight. Due to the team’s relentless energy to keep pushing, Juve equalized through Karen’s accurate long shot from outside of the box. Unfortunately, due to a brief lapse in focus and energy, the opponents equalized soon after from a corner. Despite giving their all and having a lot of close chances, the girls suffered from a few unlucky refereeing calls including a potential penalty and were not able to find another goal. The match finished with an undeserved loss.
Though the result was not what the team had hoped for, it was a great learning experience for everyone. It was an intense match which tested the mental fortitude of the players. Throughout the game, the girls consistently maintained a positive and strong attitude, controlled the match, and put pressure on their opponents. The Juve girls truly showed the "Fino Alla Fine" attitude and tried their best until the end. Proud of you girls, and good luck next Sunday!
