Over the National Day Holiday, Juventus Academy Shanghai’s U15 team took part in China’s newest and most anticipated elite youth football competition- the Shanghai Future Star Cup. Though the team was not able to finish the tournament with a win, it was still a unique, fun, and valuable learning experience.
Throughout the competition, the Juventus boys faced off against professional youth teams and always did their best. The team exhibited great understanding of the game and its tactics, and was able to retain the coach’s formation even under pressure. In comparison with the local teams, Juventus was able to show more individualism and creativity on the field.
The tournament was also a great opportunity for the players to experience a higher level of football competitions. The team held technical meetings, prepared for matches in locker rooms, posed for professional full-body portraits, and had their games broadcasted. With an opportunity such as this, the players were able to better understand the importance of commitment and professionalism in football. Furthermore, playing against competitive opponents is always a great way to analyze and learn more about how we can improve.
