Match Highlights

It didn't take long for the Bianconeri to get into form on the pitch. In the first 20 minutes, Juve were in the opponent's box often but couldn't get past the defense. In comparison, Parma had less possession and time in Juve's half but had a couple of chances with good flow. In the 23rd minute, however, a long pass from Morata across the box finds Kulusevski, and the latter scores with a clinical finish. This goal helps Juve find good flow, as Ronaldo scores a classic #CR7Airlines header just three minutes later with another assist from Morata!

As Juve dominates, Bonucci gets the chance to score a third goal. He unfortunately is unable to direct the ball into the back of the net, as his shot in front of the goal goes wide. The first half ends with a score of 2-0 and the Bianconeri have a comfortable lead.

SIIIIIUU, Ronaldo brace! Three minutes into the second half, Ronaldo makes it 3-0. A shot from the left area of the box finds the bottom right corner of the goal. Though the Bianconeri have secured the win, they did not stop playing offensively and continued to play beautiful football.

Later in the second half, McKennie heads the ball but the attempt is well-saved by the opponent's keeper. De Ligt gets the rebound and scores, but the goal is overturned since the ball was out of bounds first. At 68 minutes, Bernardeschi replaces Ramsey and at 76 minutes, Cuadrado and Portanova go in for Bonucci and McKennie.

After-Match Thoughts

Pirlo:

“Ronaldo was angry for having missed the penalty, but we had a few days to think about it and he showed how much he cares about scoring goals, even better when during open play. We weren't happy with Wednesday's result, but the performance was good. We had to get back the points we lost against Atalanta and we did it in the best way. We needed a team win and to score and we did it while playing good football... we are only at the beginning and we will have to have this attitude in every match."

Kulusevski:

“I was very happy to return to Parma, I love this stadium. When you play you have to have fun and we collaborate a lot with each other, it is important to look at the teammates around in order to change positions to perform at their best. I really like playing like this, I want to improve further to further help the team; the coach gives me a lot of freedom and this makes me happy. The goal? When I play, I always think about the goals I want to score and when it happens I'm happy.”

Juventina's Thoughts

Great game. Juve's performance under Pirlo hasn't always been stable, but when they have a good game, it really is amazing to watch. Of the 13 games played so far in Serie A, Juve have drawn six and won seven. With games against Milan (January 7th), Sassuolo (January 11th), Inter (January 18th), Roma (February 7th), and Napoli (February 14th), the Bianconeri still have the toughest matches to come. If the team plays like they did last night and against Barcelona, however, these matches should be no problem either. Both Morata and Ronaldo's overcame their poor performances last match- Morata with two assists and one goal and Ronaldo with a brace. Buffon played the full 90 minutes against Parma and again proves that experience counts and age is just a number. Every single player performed well this match, despite some key players like Cuadrado not being in the starting XI. The next match against Fiorentina comes in just three days- hopefully, the good performance will continue.
