The Juventus Elite Girls team played against one of their toughest opponents in the league and unfortunately lost the match.
The girls had a great warmup and seemed ready for the match. However, the team was a bit nervous and shaky from the start and could not display their full potential. After a few disruptive refereeing calls, Juve’s morale dropped and began to concede easy goals. The first half finished 0-4.
At halftime, the coaches told the girls that they had to start pushing harder. Technically and tactically, the Juve girls have always been one of the best. But because of age and relative inexperience in the league, the players lacked determination and toughness on the pitch.
The second half was much better as the team got used to the pace of the game and calmed down. The Juve girls conceded one more before they were also able to score two in quick succession and push forward. The goals showcased great team effort and were scored by Linda and Yvonne. The players also started to play stronger and made things more difficult for the opponents. Notably, Angela was a beast in the defense throughout the entire match, always winning the ball in her duels. The match finished 6-2.
There were some good points from this match for sure. The team shows time and time again that they are able to play cooperative football and are strong technically. The team spirit shown during this match was also a positive, as this is precisely what makes an already good team even stronger. However, the girls must keep working hard to improve themselves and gain confidence on the pitch. Believe in yourself, we are sure that you will only get better with experience!
