WHAT MAKES THEM A LEGEND?

David Trezeguet, in his 10 seasons with the Old Lady, thoroughly established his status as a club legend. With 320 total appearances and 171 goals, Trezeguet is the leading foreign goal-scorer in the club's history. 

The Frenchman made an impact almost immediately upon his arrival, scoring 14 goals in his first Serie A season despite being used mostly as a substitute striker. The following 2001/02 season under Lippi then became his greatest season ever. Not only did he win the Capocannoniere (Serie A Top Scorer of the Year) title with 24 league goals, his contributions led Juventus to their 26th Scudetto. Trezeguet then came close to a Champions League title in 2003, but the Bianconeri unfortunately lost to AC Milan on penalties.

If there is one thing that Trezeguet does well, it's scoring goals. No wonder his nickname is Trezegol. A clinical and talented goalscorer, Trezeguet is known for his superior spatial awareness inside the 18-yard box. He was extremely good at recovering loose balls and unexpected chances, scoring from close range in very few touches even when caught off-guard in awkward positions. 

Besides his goal-scoring prowess, Trezeguet also remained loyal to the club. After the 2001/02 and 2002/03 Serie A titles, Trezeguet and Juventus went on to win two more in 2004/05 and 2005/06. However, the Calciopoli scandal stripped the club of these two titles, and Juve were relegated to Serie B. Despite the club losing many of its biggest stars, Trezeguet was not one of them. He scored 15 goals in Serie B and was a huge part of helping the team back to top-flight football after just one season. 

Lastly and most importantly, Trezeguet's previous role as Brand Ambassador for Juventus means that we have had the honor to receive him here at Juventus Academy Shanghai. Trezeguet visited us back in early 2019, for the official Opening Ceremony of the Academy. We are very happy to have been visited by such Bianconero legend!
