Over the Tomb-Sweeping Holiday break, Juventus Academy Shanghai hosted 2 three-day camps, receiving great feedback from players and parents alike. The first was regular training, provided for committed players who want to keep active even during the break. The second was more out of the ordinary, as we proudly ran a goalkeeper camp in collaboration with the Italian Goalkeeper School. Dimitri Ostorero, the head coach of this camp, is a professional full of experience. Not only has he played in the highest levels of youth football in teams such as Torino FC and the Italian National Team, he was also most recently the head GK coach for Qingdao Jonoon. Every day of training was filled with new exciting drills and skills to learn, all of our participants had a lot of fun.
GOALKEEPER CAMP
Our participants ranged from U7 players in their first attempt at goalkeeping to Senior Team (U18) players full of experience on the pitch. No matter their age and skill levels, coaches Dimitri and Giovanni did a great job making sure that every player was challenged and having fun at the same time. The goalkeepers worked on specific skills like handling, catching, positioning, diving, footwork, and so on through different training methods such as individual situational drills and team games. We hope to host more GK camps in the near future to give our goalkeepers more chances to practice specific skills to become better in-goal, stay tuned!
REGULAR CAMP
As for the regular camp, our players continued the hustle and trained hard in preparation for the upcoming league matches on Saturday. Drills were set up for the players to practice the technical aspects of the game- coordination, pace, dribbling, passing, and the training always ended with a practice match for the players to gain more on-field knowledge and experience. In the end, all of our players were awarded a certificate of completion for their participation!
