The league matches for our youth teams begin this week, and again in preparation for the new season, Juventus Academy Shanghai scheduled some matches last Saturday. The U7, U8, U9, and U11 teams played amongst themselves and the U13 and U14-16 played against another team. The Senior Team, on the other hand, played a match in the 11-a-side adult league.

U7 & U8

The U7 and U8 teams played against each other in a friendly, aiming to train the young kids in their game knowledge.

U9

The U9 is still getting accustomed to each other as a newly formed team, and they played a practice match amongst themselves.

U11

The U11 team also played amongst themselves in a 7-a-side match.

U13

The U13 played a friendly against a Chinese school team. The game was intense, and the final score after three 30-minute matches was 4-4. Thomas scored a brace, while Tomas and Jacob scored one goal each. In the first third, Juve controlled the match and dominated the pace, having many attacking chances. At the same time, the players defended well and rarely gave the opponent opportunities on goal. Despite this, the first third ended goalless. The coach changed up the entire squad during the second and third parts, and both teams scored two goals in each third. In all, great attitude from the team during the match with lots of potential, the new season looks bright.

U14 & U16

The U14 and U16 combined to play against the same Chinese school’s older team. Even though this was a friendly, both teams took this match very seriously and gave it their all. The U14-16 also played three 30-minute thirds and ended the match in a tight 3-2 loss. In the first third, both teams created good chances but Juve took the lead first at the 5th minute with a goal from Yogo just outside the box. Then in the 20th minute, Matthew Wang widened the gap and brought the score to 2-0. In the second half, however, the Bianconeri saw themselves in a bit of trouble just five minutes in. The opponent was able to get two goals in and bring themselves level due to some mistakes on Juve’s part. The players slowly found their stability and the second part ended 2-2 on aggregate. The last third was the decisive match to break the tie. Despite fighting hard, the opposing team was the one that eventually found the goal, and the intense match ends 3-2. The team is mentally and physically ready for a great season, Forza Juve!

The Senior Team performed wonderfully against a strong team in the 11-a-side league, snatching a 5-2 win. Sam, the MOTM, scored a hat-trick, while Eli and Fynn scored one each. The team started strong and scored within ten minutes of the first half. With constant and solid performances from every player on the pitch, the first half ended with a comfortable 3-1 lead for the Bianconeri. The second half continued just as well and the team remained focused. In the end, Juve win 5-2! The Senior Team has shown consistent improvement, keep it up!
