After a great run in the Euro 2020 competition, the Italian National Team has completed the ultimate redemption arc and is crowned Champions!! This is Italy's first trophy since the 2006 World Cup, and it was completely deserved. Italy won every single one of their match, against Turkey, Switzerland, Wales, Austria, Belgium, Spain, and finally England. Another amazing stat: the Italian National Team is on a 34-match unbeaten run.

Italy defeated England early Monday morning on penalties in the final of the tournament. Though England took the lead 2 minutes into the match, Bonucci would equalize in the 67th minute to send the match into extra time. With neither side scoring within the added 30 minutes, the winners were to be determined through nerve-wracking but exciting penalties. Berardi, Bonucci, and Bernardeschi converted their chances, and two consecutive saves from Donnarumma gave Italy the win!

Though Bernardeschi played as a substitute during this competition, he showed up whenever the team needed him. He scored both his shots during penalties against Spain and England, in a calm and collected fashion.

Chiesa started off as a substitute but proved himself to be among the best of this tournament. He scored two extremely decisive goals- one against Austria in the 95th minute and another against Spain in the 60th minute. He was named Man of the Match for both these matches.
