Fun-Filled Sunday @SRC!

Last Sunday under beautiful weather, Juventus Academy Shanghai hosted an opening ceremony at Shanghai Racquet Club. A total of 9 teams participated in the tournaments, and almost 40 players plus some parents challenged themselves to the ICON game contest. Many families joined us at the event, everyone had fun, and some players were able to bring home trophies for their amazing performance!

The event started off with a showdown between three teams in the younger division- teams Mario, Spiderman, and The Brothers Hood. The competition was tight, and every team put up a good fight and won one match each. Ultimately, the Brothers Hood took home the trophy for the most goals scored.

For the older division, we had six participant teams. The teams were split into two groups, with The Lions, Mission Impossible, and Hattrick FC in group A, and Unlimited FC, Bull Demon King, and Lost Boys in group B. The final was between Hattrick FC and Lost Boys. Lost Boys started off strong and Hattrick FC were close to making a comeback, but the Lost Boys in red win the match at the end. Congratulations and good job to all participant teams!

While the tournaments were going on, many other players and parents were attempting the ICON game for a chance to bring home the individual Ballon d’Or prize. Early in the day, the former record-holder (123) Alvaro was able to get a score of 117, posing a difficult challenge for the rest of the players. Alvaro later that day increased that score to 121, followed by a close 119 from Francesco, 118 from Yogo, and 113 from Hugo. However, one surprise challenger not only was able to exceed 121 points but even broke the all-time record. Jacob Zhang, the eventual winner of the Ballon d’Or, scored 124 and brought home the prize. Amazing skills from all those who tried the game, and hopefully we will continuously have record-breakers in future events!
